£1,500

A purpose made compilation of Gandhi's writings on the role of women in the old and new societies. With a special preface by the author. Published in Karachi during the war alongside two other such compilations (1 and 3 in the series). These publication seem to be of exceptional scarcity. I have traced no other copy in dust jacket appearing on the market. The gift inscription is in Sind dialect, one of five major languages current in Karachi. An independently published volume in a series which included To The Students 'a book that is acclaimed to be a friend, philosopher and guide of the student community of India, Burma and Ceylon [sic]'. And a third entitled To The Hindus and Muslims. Rare in dust jacket.
