First and only edition; 2 vols, 4to (290 x 200 mm, 11 1/4 x 8 in); 2 illustrated frontispieces (1 colour), 26 black & white plates, 101 photographic plates, includes large folding chart to rear of vol. II, a few marginal corner creases to first few leaves of vol. II, offsetting to half-title, else fine; publisher's blue cloth, spines faded with a few minor spots, corners bumped, otherwise very sound, a near-fine set of this rare title.
