  1. First edition, 2 parts, 48 livraisons in part I and 26 in part II ; folio (38 x 27 cm); 589 hand-coloured lithographic plates with printed captions and some with publisher's blind stamp, one lithographic dedication, 3pp. letterpress content biofolium for part I, with annotations annotated, tape marks and leaves detached, plates tipped in as issued, except 5 plates in part I which are from a later issue, captions mostly in French or in French and German (as in the sections for the Swedish, Swiss and French armies), plates for the Austrian Army are heightened with gum arabic, plates are in excellent condition overall, a few with tape repairs, one foxed and a few with marginal tears; each livraison in the original grey printed wrappers, of a few different designs, with the text in French or German, numbered in ink manuscript (extremities rubbed, creased and with short nicks and tears, about one-third with splits to joints, some almost detached, livraison 25 of part 2 with crude tape repairs to joints, part I contained in the original portfolio with printed paper-covered sides, green silk ties (extremities rubbed, a couple of short splits to joints); with a near contemporary metal box used to house at least part of the set, a fine example.

First edition, folio (35 x 24 cm); viii, 2-35 pp., hand-coloured engraved title, 35 hand-coloured engraved plates, minor foxing to one plate and occasional staining, endpapers replaced, later quarter red morocco and cloth binding by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, spine in six parts with gilt text to second and third parts, raised bands.

First edition (dedication dated Sept. 20, 1777); 8vo (21.5 x 14 cm); hand-coloured copper-engraved frontispiece, 20 copper-engraved plates with hand-colouring on 17 leaves, armorial bookplate to front pastedown, contemporary pencil drawing of a mounted soldier to front free endpaper recto, ownership inscription to front free endpaper verso, subscribers list, errata, and advertising leaf, p.41 misnumbered 43, pagination accords with copy held by the Society of the Cincinnati, occasional light spotting; contemporary speckled calf, spine with gilt title-piece, spine cracked but holding, ends rubbed, corners slightly bumped; [32], 286, [2]pp.

  4. First edition. Landscape 4to. (21.5 x 31.5 cm) , 20 chromolithographs after Simkin, including title-page vignette, extra-illustrated with the complete set of 20 original watercolour drawings by Simkin, handsomely bound by Riviere in full crushed red levant morocco, gilt extra, broad gilt inner dentelles, all edges gilt, slipcase, joints lightly rubbed, a unique item in fine condition.

  5. First edition. 8vo., v, 88 pp., ads at end, 9 maps (1 double-page), 6 plates (3 double-page), original pictorial wrappers (edges worn), a very good example.

First edition; 8vo (21.5 x 13.5 cm); armorial bookplate to front pastedown, engraved title-page, offsetting and tape residue to upper endpapers and the odd spot to last few leaves; contemporary half calf and marbled boards, gilt spine decorated in blind, contrasting red morocco title-piece, marbled edges, minor wear to extremities; [6], xix, [1], 326pp.

  7. First edition; two parts in 1 vol; folio (43 x 29 cm). Frontispiece, title, pp. [12], 196; title, pp. 244, [2], with 41 engraved plans and maps, most double page, including large folding map of Paris; tear to corner of one leaf without affecting the text. Contemporary red morocco gilt, gilt monogram to covers, spine in seven compartments, green morocco label to second, others richly gilt, raised bands, all edges gilt.

  8. Folio (48 x 37 cm), title-page, 15 chromolithographed plates, all numbered and captioned, hinges slightly loose, original blindstamped brown cloth gilt lettered and decorated on upper cover, corners worn and rubbed, a very good attractive

Large folio (54 x 40 cm), pictorial title, dedication, decorative head- and tailpieces, 13 hand-coloured lithographs after Charles Aubry and Karl Leoillot, of military subjects, each surrounded with a broad border of vignettes, contemporary red morocco backed marbled boards, some slight fading to top edges of boards.
