Landscape folio (35 x 50 cm); lithographed title, engraved map hand-coloured in outline and index leaf, and 43 lithographed plates after various artists including Orlowskiy, Alexandrov and Kollman, with captions in French, a few with minor foxing, ink inscription to title-page; contemporary half calf, upper cover with trimmed upper wrapper laid down, dust-jacket and slipcase.

  3. First edition; folio (38.5 x 16 cm); 111p., 55 partly coloured lithographed plates, some double page, large geological coloured map; contemporary quarter red morocco over marbled boards, label and gilt tooling to spine, a fine copy.

  4. Second edition. 4to, xxiii, [iii], 344, [xiv] index, [2] ads pp., folding plate and 4 folding maps, slight spotting, contemporary tree calf, expertly rebacked, original spine richly gilt, with red morocco label, laid down, a fine example.

  5. 8vo. xvi, 339, 16 [advertisement] pp. with one folding map, 9 lithographs of which 4 are chromolithographs including 1 folding; occasional light spotting; booklabel to upper pastedown and large library label to upper fly-leaf (Norfolk and Norwich Library). Red publisher's cloth blind stamped, spine lettered in gilt; spine faded, joints splitting.

First edition, 4 vols, 4to (26 x 21 cm), xx, 400; xvi, 374, [16]; xvi, 256; xvi, 302, [xx] pp., half-titles to volumes 3 and 4, with 9 engraved maps, 4 allegorical frontispieces and 15 plates; pp. misnumbered with gap in pagination 144 - 147 in vol. I, scattered annotations in ink, scattered spotting, minor tears to maps, neat repairs to joints, an attractive set.

  7. Two volumes folio (32.5 x 21 cm). First work with half-title, title, [32] pp., 560 columns on [280] pp., with engraved portrait of the author, 2 folding and 10 double-page engraved maps, 2 folding, 17 double-page and 2 full-page engraved plates, and 40 engravings in text; Second work with half-title, title, additional engraved title, 565-1108 columns on [272], [21] pp. table and privilege, with 8 double-page engraved plates and 19 engravings in text, some plates by Nicolas Witsen; contemporary blonde calf, spines in seven compartments, red morocco lettering piece to second, others others with gilt centre tool, broad gilt dividers, occasional light browning and offsetting, hinges a bit weak, overall a fine fresh set.

  8. Quarto (26.5 x 18.3 cm). 90 numbered plates coloured by hand, Russian, German and French captions in the plate; first plate spotted, small traces of mount to the versos. Later vellum with manuscript score; soiled.
