Second Italian edition. 2 vols in one, small 4to. in 8s, [10], 200, [7], [1 (blank)], 228 ff., woodcut device to titles, woodcut initials throughout; short marginal paper-flaw to 2a7, occasional light browning; late 19th-century red morocco gilt, all edges marbled and gilt, marbled endpapers, ribbon page-marker; a little darkened, minimally rubbed, short splits to hinges, nonetheless a very good copy.

First English edition. 4to, [12], 335, [9]pp., title in red and black, without 'Directions to Binder' leaf at end of preliminaries, 37 engraved maps, plans and plates, 18 folding, light browning to text, some old stains and marks to title,, mostly marginal, a few rust spots (one to Nn4 causing small hole and loss of letter), contemporary panelled calf, morocco lettering piece, short splits to joints, light wear head of spine, an attractive copy.

First edition, folio (53.5 x 35 cm), hand-coloured lithograph frontispiece, title, dedication leaf, list of subscribers, engraved map by Arrowsmith, 38 pages of text, and 12 hand-coloured lithographs finished with gum arabic by Guaci, after drawings taken by Charles Bentley, contemporary black half morocco, grey pebbled cloth boards, light spotting, joints and corners repaired, occasional light spotting, an excellent example.

  9. First edition. Four text volumes, 4to (31 x 23.5cm) and folio atlas (61.5 x 45cm). Engraved portrait of La Pérouse after Tardieu, all half-titles, colophon leaf in vol. I-III, vol. IV colophon following index. (vol. IV with a few minor marginal chips repaired.) Atlas with engraved allegorical title-page by Moreau le Jeune, titled Atlas du voyage de La Pérouse without imprint, and 69 engraved plates comprising folding world map, 35 views and natural history plates,33 maps or coastal profiles (20 double-page). Original pink paper covered boards, unopened and uncut, neat repairs and restoration to bindings, spines faded, covers with old residual dampstaining, modern red morocco labels, a fine set.

  10. First edition. 8vo., xv, 256 pp., original drab boards sometime rebacked with green cloth, boards rubbed and worn, internally clean and fresh.
