Limited edition, number 1392 of 1475 copies; folio; text in Italian and English printed in parallel, 34 double-page and 8 full-page illustrations after the drawings of Sandro Botticelli, scattered light foxing, heavier to endpapers; publisher's full orange-stained vellum, double gilt rule borders to upper and lower covers, central gilt device to both covers, gilt lettering to spine, top edge gilt, covers slightly marked and bowed (as usual), otherwise a very good copy with none of the usual spine fading.

  6. First edition. 8vo, xxii, 342 pp., frontispiece and numerous illustrations, original blue cloth gilt, light foxing to title and occasionally elsewhere, a very good copy.

Limited deluxe edition, number 344 of 652, signed by the author; crown 4to (260 x 200 mm); 45 illustrations including frontispiece portrait of Grace, small mark and hole to base of tissue guard, not affecting image, else internally near fine; publisher's half black morocco, top edge gilt, others uncut, small, professional repair to head cap, offsetting (browning) to endpapers, fore-edges toned, with a few minor spots, otherwise a near-fine and very bright copy; xii, 512pp.

  8. First edition, first impression, one of 100 numbered copies, specially bound and signed by the author; 8vo; publisher's full black morocco, eclipse motif to boards and titles to spine in red, matching cloth slipcase, fine.

  9. First edition, presentation copy inscribed by the author; 8vo; light spotting to prelims and endpapers; publisher's pale sage cloth, black lettering to spine, boards lightly marked, with the buff dustjacket (supplied from another copy) printed in red, jacket slightly toned and chipped, otherwise a very good copy of a scarce work.
