An incredible photographic record and account of the major houses of England, made shortly before their, in many instances, catastrophic demise following the First and Second World Wars. It is marvellous to see houses such as Wentworth Wodehouse and Holland House in all their original glory before the collections were broken up and, in the case of Holland House, bombed.
