Very scarce Lahore printed first edition of an Indian Mutiny classic. This copy considerably enhanced by the 33 pages of notes made by Lieutenant Fraser giving details of the siege at Sialkot
'The medical depot was the first building I came across, and seeing the Goojurs still plundering I jumped through the hedge followed by my men, when the first sight that presented itself to our eyes was the body of Dr. J Graham the medical storekeeper lying in the small back verandah quite disfigured in the two wounds through the lungs. I immediately gave the order to fire through the windows doors of the house on the robbers inside who on our approach had hidden themselves inside, and on attempting to escape by running the gauntlet 5 were shot down and several cut up by the Seiks, one with a tulwar under my eyes, a most disgusting spectacle'.
