Scarce. David Field Rennie was a medical officer in the British army and was an eye witness to the conflict between India and Bhutan over the Doar territory. The work contains an historical summary of relations between British India and Bhutan and their rival claims to the Doars. also a commetary on contemporary medical practices for treating heat stroke, cholera, etc.

First edition. 8vo, xxiii, [3], 408 pp, frontispiece, title-page vignette, folding map, 3 plates, 5 illustrations in text, ex libris to pastedown and corresponding ink ownership inscription to endpaper; original green cloth gilt, spine slightly bumped, in a modern green moire slipcase with green morocco corners and entry, gilt ruled, an excellent copy.
