Moore was a massively influential writer of the 20th century, who emigrated from Belfast to Canada and eventually the United States. Moore was a prolific and influential writer after receiving wide acclaim for his first novel, Judith Hearne, published in 1955. The year it was published, The Great Victorian Collection won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for Fiction and Canada's Governor General's Award for English-language fiction.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eJanet Halverson designed for some of the most important mid-century authors and publishing houses including covers for Tom Wolfe, Mary McCarthy, Maya Angelou, and Joan Didion, and design for Harper's.
