A scarce and comprehensive railroad guide for several major routes in the Northeast.

This scarce guide includes parts of Canada, the Great Lakes and Niagara Falls. It was published, before the Civil War, and covers the Northern and Eastern states of North America. It stretches as far west as Pennsylvania and Michigan. Earlier editions by Appleton were published under different titles and contained less maps and engraved illustrations.

First edition. 8vo, 304 pp, 30 maps, some folding, some coloured, numerous wood engravings, bookplate, marbled endpapers; contemporary half calf, marbled boards, worn; overall a very good copy.
