An attractive example of what was intended by Warne to be one of a series; unfortunately Beatrix Potter was fundamentally dissatisfied with the finished product and felt the work interfered too much with her other commitments. This was therefore the one & only almanac. The work features a colour plate by Beatrix Potter for each month of the year, with suitably seasonal theme.
First and only edition; 16mo (125 x 93 mm.); colour frontispiece, colour vignette title, 12 colour plates and patterned colour endpapers by the author, internally fine; publisher's pale brown boards lettered in dark brown with inset colour illustration to upper cover, a little light finger-marking but overall a very good copy, in original plain glassine dust-jacket, presented in later solander box.
