Now rarely found with the dust-jackets therefore the cloth bindings beneath are exceptionally well preserved.
'Thornton' Edition; 12 vols, 8vo (220 x 160 mm); 67 full page plates complete including portraits, photogravures and illustrations from photographs etc; occasional light spotting, mostly confined to blank endpapers but more pronounced to first few leaves and a couple of blank head margins of vol. I of Villette, otherwise, clean and bright; uniform publisher's green cloth, spines with art nouveau style flower decorations and lettered in gilt, top page edges green, others uncut, original art nouveau style dust-wrappers, these with toned spine, a few spot and minimal soiling and rubbing, otherwise very good.
