A scarce edition in the original dust-jacket of Mann's novel Professor Unrat, the basis for the famous German/English film 'The Blue Angel' directed by Josef von Sternberg and starring Emil Jannings, Kurt Gerron and Marlene Dietrich, launching the latter into international celebrity. This and a coeval Readers Library edition were issued due to the film's success in Europe.

First Jarrolds edition, first printing; 8vo; publisher's dark blue cloth, spine slightly rolled, overall near fine, pictorial dust-jacket correctly priced at 'seven shillings & sixpence net', a little chipped fore-corners and spine ends, some slight rubbing to edges, but overall very good.
