First edition thus; 11 vols, 8vo; engraved portrait frontispiece, scattered light foxing, slight offsetting to title, previous ownership inscriptions to title and front pastedown of vol I; contemporary marbled calf, spines elaborately gilt with morocco labels, gilt lettering to spine, corners slightly rubbed, otherwise a very good set.
