Switzerland was the longest series in English with 28 editions (1863-1938). There were two versions of this edition. The first version was issued in 1869. This is an example of the second version issued in 1870 "with additions and corrections down to the spring of 1870". and there was a first version issued in 1869. Scarce in this condition.

Endpapers dated "May 1870".

Fourth edition. xliv, 418pp, 21 maps, 7 plans, 7 panoramas, bookplate pasted down on front paste-down, some slight spotting on title-page, publisher's old type red cloth gilt; overall a very good copy.
