Signed by Robert Mapplethorpe. Arthur Rimbaud was eighteen years old when he wrote his prose poem Un saison en enfer (A Season in Hell), first published in 1873. It was written in the aftermath of the break-up of his tempestuous relationship with Paul Verlaine, who had attempted to kill him with a revolver earlier that year. Here, Rimbaud's original French text and Paul Schmidt's English translation are accompanied by eight photogravure photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe, including his 'Self-portrait with Horns, 1985.'
