Alexis Gritchenko: Dynamocolor.
Kyiv, Rodovid Press, 2017
Alexis Gritchenko (1883-1977) was a painter and art critic whose work is closely tied to Ukraine, Russian and France. In the 1910s he was an active participant in the avant-garde scene and developed his own artistic movement - Dynamocolor - based on bringing together the principles of cubism and the formal language of the icon. In 1919 Gritchenko left Moscow, spent two years in Constantinople, and from 1921 on lived and worked in France.
This is the first in-depth publication to include many new documents and encompass the artist's entire career.
