An excellent letter from President Ford to Prime Minister Harold Wilson, signed by the POTUS in bold black ink:

'Dear Prime Minister: It is a source of continuing pleasure to me to know that we both belong to the world fraternity of pipe smokers. I am very pleased to send you the accompanying set of colourful American pipes, which I hope you will enjoy. With best wishes, Sincerely, Gerald R. Ford…'

Both Ford & Wilson were prolific pipe-smokers; Ford, who smoked on average eight pipeloads a day while in office, has been labelled America's 'greatest president' by political pundit Alexander Cockburn, simply because, in his opinion, he did the least damage…
