The story of the the removal from Egypt and assembly in New York of the Alexandrian Obelisk, in a special Egyptological binding and with an original photograph.

'A curious and fascinating work, this contains a complete and detailed account of the removal, trans-oceanic move, and re-erection in New York's Central Park of the Alexandrian Obelisk 'Cleopatra's Needle'. It also describes the moving of other important obelisks to various European cities and includes a chapter on the ancient methods of quarrying, transporting and erecting obelisks. The photographs of the moving of the New York obelisk are of great interest' (Charles Wood).

The original photograph is of the Obelisk in situ in New York. We have been unable to trace any other deluxe copies of this work.
