HOW TO

LEARN ABOUT BOOKS

The home of the rare book, Shapero Rare Books resides in the heart of London’s Mayfair. For those who aren’t able to visit us in person our Specialists will be sharing some of the knowledge they have acquired in the coming months here on our website in a series of posts about rare and antiquarian books.

LEARN ABOUT BOOKS

What you may ask is the difference between a rare and an antiquarian book? Strictly speaking an antiquarian book is one which is over 100 years old. Therefore an antiquarian book will in all likelihood be a rare book, but a rare book (perhaps a modern first edition of Ian Fleming’s Diamonds are Forever published in 1956) might not be an antiquarian book.
