Myths of the Near Future.

London, Jonathan Cape, 1982
£425

A fine first edition of this compilation of short stories by J.G. Ballard, in the classic Bill Botten dust-jacket. With the author's signed presentation inscription tot eh front free endpaper, 'for Edward Very best Jim Ballard'. Now we cannot be sure of the identity of Edward. Ted Carell would be nice but who knows. The real point being this copy is signed JIM Ballard as opposed to J.G. and that indicates the recipient to be an intimate of the author. Examples of Ballard's works signed in this way are uncommon.
