Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

This is the fourth issue of the, now famous, first title in the Harry Potter series, published in the same year as the first issue, of which only 500 copies were printed. Many of these (one estimate is 300), went to public libraries. The initial print run was 'followed quickly by a reprint of 1,000 copies and three reprints of 500 copies' (Clays Ltd., the printers)
