One the author's three novels and distinctly uncommon. Printed by Darantiere in Dijon (who had, of course printed the first edition of Ulysses) and issued in presumably quite small numbers by Bryher's publishing company. Macpherson's main claim to fame was as one of the first serious film critics and theorists. From the library of Eric Walter White with his name in an unknown hand to the first blank. White and Macpherson had both been the lover of H.D., the American modernist poet Hilda Doolittle.
First edition, sole impression; 8vo; light spotting early and late; publisher's buff wrappers printed in black, a little foxing to the wrappers, backstrip tanned and with some further light wear, otherwise a good copy.
