A nice film tie-in adaptation of the last major work of fiction published in Tolstoy's lifetime. Resurrection was an eagerly anticpated return to novel writing after 25 years of publishing non-fiction works, it was so popular even in its heavily censored state that it outsold its predecessors War and Peace and Anna Karenina.

Description

First film screen edition, 8vo, photographic plates, original decorative cloth to same style as first American edition, visually striking dust-jacket with scene from the film, a few minor closed tears and rubbing to extremities, but overall a fine example.
