A striking book dedicated to the socio-economic advances of the first Five-year plan. Originally published under the title, 'The Story of the Great Plan' in 1930, Ilin wanted to create a new genre of children's book, a type of modern fairy tale but with facts and figures on industrial output. The book was a great success in the West with a German translation also appearing called 'Five years which are transforming the world'.
