Association copy. An important association copy with the author's signed presentation inscription to the titles page, 'For Iain Sommerville in setting forth - Best wishes William Burroughs'. Sommerville and Burroughs were lovers in the early and mid 1960s. They met at the Beat Hotel in Paris and would collaborate with Brion Gysin on the 1973 Let The Mice In.
Examples of Naked Lunch, of the masterpieces of the Beat movement, with literary associations are rare.

First American edition, first printing, inscribed by the author to his lover and collaborator; 8vo; publisher's black cloth-backed black boards, titles to spine gilt, black topstain, with the dust jacket. Small chip from the top of the spine, a very good copy in the bright dust jacket with a chip at the top of the spine panel.
