Despite his arguments not succeeding he would go on to be the President of the Board of Control three further times and Governor-General of India between 1842 and 1844. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFroude was an English writer, although this pamphlet was written during his attempt at an ecclesiastical career.
