He published his \u003cem\u003eSystem of Dissections\u003c\/em\u003e, a guide for anatomy students, while himself still a student in 1798. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBell worked briefly as a surgeon in Edinburgh before moving to London, collaborating with his brother John on \u003cem\u003eAnatomy of the Human Body\u003c\/em\u003e (1801) and publishing his own \u003cem\u003eAnatomy of the Brain\u003c\/em\u003e in 1802. Published the following year, the present work was 'a continuation of the work of Sir Charles' elder brother John's \u003cem\u003eEngravings\u003c\/em\u003e of the bones, muscles and joints.
