Together his Annals and Histories cover the period from AD 14 to 96, charting the reign of the Julio-Claudians from Tiberius on, to year of the Four Emperors and the rise and fall of the Flavian dynasty under Vespasian and his sons Titus and Domitian.
Second edition; 3 vols; 12mo (17 x 10.5 cm); 11 engraved plates, 2 folding tables (table in vol. I with tears crudely repaired in tape), woodcut initials, head and tailpieces, library label to front pastedown of each vol., text-block slightly toned; contemporary panelled calf, neatly rebacked preserving original brown morocco lettering-pieces, sprinkled edges, extremities a little rubbed, corners slightly bumped, very good; 359, [25]; [2], 513, [21]; [18], 420, [20]pp.
