Is Anyone Taking Any Notice? is based on Don McCullin's The Destruction Business (1971), designed by Muriel Cooper, the first Design and Media director for MIT Press, who co-founded the Visual Language Workshop in MIT's Department of Architecture and was later a founding faculty member of the MIT Media Lab, where she mentored some of the designers who have shaped contemporary digital design.

Here, she pairs McCullin's reportage photography, much of which was from the Vietnam War, with a text by Alexander Solzhenitsyn. It opens with a note stating:
