Originally published in parts from 1834-36, this edition has 12 extra plates. The preface states that the work was to consist of 72 engravings but only 60 (including title-vignettte) are mentioned in the list of illustrations-
Large paper copy, 4to, (31.7 x 23.4 cm); hand-coloured engraved title page vignette, 59 hand-coloured engraved plates, some plates weakening at platemarks, plate 30 dust-soiled in upper margin; contemporary green half morocco gilt, spine with raised bands in five compartments, gilt edges, spine faded, extremities rubbed, otherwise a very good copy.
