The title, 'Where's the rest of meý' is a famous line from one of Reagan's hit movies, King's Row. This autobiography is an honest and entertaining account of his life before he became president. A year before this book was published, Reagan had been catapulted into the political limelight after a series of impassioned speeches on behalf of Republican candidate Barry Goldwater in the presidential election.

Goldwater lost by a large margin against Lyndon B. Johnson but Reagan's speech known as 'A Time for Choosing' or simply 'The Speech' was remembered as one of the most effective political speeches ever made.
