This extremely rare early Baedeker was translated by Professor Klein from the fifth German edition published in the same year. This was the second French title to be published by Baedeker. The first was published in 1832 under the title ” Voyage du Rhin de Mayence a Cologne.” However this is considered to be the first true French Baedeker as much of the guide had been re-written. Baedeker had also introduced more town plans.
First edition. xxiv, 309pp, 8 plans and one general map in two parts at the rear, bound in the original yellow pictorial biedermeier boards, slightly bumped and worn at corners; overall an excellent copy.
