This was volume I of the official guide of the German Automobile Club and designed primarily for motorists. It was published shortly after the “Anschluss of Austria”. Volume II was intended to cover former Austria. However in 1939 they issued a second volume which covered all the German territories and included Austria. The club edition with insignia on title-page was only issued to club members. This copy without the club insignia on the title-page was probably sold to a member of the general public. Endpapers dated ” Jul 1938″.
First edition. xxviii, 632pp, 60 town plans, (no clubausgabe on title-page), gilt lettering bright, publisher’s red cloth variant coarse-grained binding; a very good copy.
