This is the first edition to include Paris and Northern France.Paris was the last series started by Karl Baedeker himself before he died in 1859.

This copy is the second issue which mentions on the title page the exhibition supplement for the Paris World Exhibition in 1867. These were inserted loose into the volumes and therefore are usually missing as is the case with this copy. Endpapers dated “Mai 1867”.
