Relatively few copies were bound in this distinctive green binding since most were bound, also by Sangorski, in rust coloured morocco.
H.R.H. Edward, Prince of Wales succeeded to the British throne on the death of his Father, King George V. However, due to the British Government and the Church of England’s refusal to allow him to marry the twice divorced American, Wallis Simpson, the King abdicated on 11 December 1936 in favour of his younger brother, George VI. At this juncture he assumed the title of His Royal Highness the Duke of Windsor. On his marriage to Mrs. Simpson she became the Duchess of Windsor although she was never granted the title of H.R.H.
