This title was intended to be the last in the series and is extremely scarce.

Originally the Japanese intended to include the “East Indies” in Vol IV China but the “material dealing with China Proper was so great, that we found it no easy task to compress it within a single volume” and therefore a separate volume on the “Far East” was published. It includes chapters on the Philippines, Bali. Lombok , Java and part of Borneo. Maps include Manila, Saigon, Bangkok , Angkor, Hanoi and Singapore. This second edition appears to be an exact reprint of the first edition in 1917. However this edition appears to be extremely rare and therefore possibly far few copies were issued.

Second edition.. Small 8vo, (16 x 11 cm), pp. xxx, 519, 26 maps and plans including general coloured folding map in rear pocket, numerous photographic illustrations throughout including 6 full page illustrations, inner hnges slightly cracked; publisher’s brown cloth gilt; overall a very good copy.
