This historical guide was originally published in 1848 as “The Stranger’s Guide to Lisbon”. Both editions are extremely scarce but this edition contains attractive engraved plates of the Cathedral, Aqueduct and several views including one of Cintra. Unusual work.

Second edition. Small 8vo (15 x 10 cm), pp.348, 10 engraved plates including 2 double-page, some foxing to a couple of plates, discreet stamp , ink inscription on title-page, marbled endpapers, bound in contemporary morocco backed mottled boards, spine gilt lettered and ruled, extremities worn; overall a good solid copy.
