God's Man.

Description

The first of Lynd Ward’s stories without words, relying solely on his visually striking and compelling woodcut illustrations to develop a Faustian tale of an artist who signs away his soul for a magical paintbrush. Seen by many as the precursor to the graphic novel, and a format which has seen something of a revival in recent years in books aimed at children in part to engage their imagination and storytelling skills.

Description

First edition, 8vo, woodcut illustrations by Lynd Ward throughout, original cloth-backed patterned pictorial boards, minor rubbing to corners, overall very good.
