The British merchant ship John Duncan is shown here moored at Riga harbour with the famous landmarks of St. Peter’s Church and Riga Cathedral visible in the background. Grangemouth was an important and busy port in the 19th Century with many British ships travelling to Baltic and Scandinavian countries.
