A sumptuously illustrated publication to mark the Her Majesty’s 85th birthday by the highly respected journalist and broadcaster, Alastair Burnet, illustrated by the three leading photographers of the time and inscribed by one of them: ‘For Jean/Thank you for starting all this/ To many you are Bodecia/ for me you are Florence Nightingale/ Norman/ August 1985.’ This was to Jean Rook ‘First Lady of Fleet Street’ (1931-1991), columnist for The Daily Express and, together with Lynda Lee-Potter, a model for the Glenda Slagg column in the satirical magazine, Private Eye.


First edition, inscribed by Norman Parkinson, 4to., 88pp., numerous illustrations, mostly in colour, many full-page, publisher’s blue cloth, pictorial dust-jacket, fine condition.
