Alex Watsham

Russia & Eastern Europe

Alex is a specialist in Russian culture and has just graduated from the University of Cambridge. During her time there she developed a particular interest in Ukrainian literature and documentary theatre, and spent a year working in Russia as part of her degree, first at EM Communications in Moscow, and then at the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg. She has travelled widely in Siberia, southern Russia and Central Asia. Alex is currently working towards the ultimate goal of adopting a puppy and naming it Misha after her favourite author, Mikhail Afanasievich Bulgakov, on whom she wrote her undergraduate dissertation.
