First US edition, first issue (with errata to verso of title in vol II); 2 vols, 8vo, (20.2 x 13.5 cm); illustrated throughout, hinges slightly loose on vol I but holding, occasional marginal annotations in vol I, slight spotting to prelims, slight marginal discolouration of leaves to both vols, pale yellow endpapers; publisher's russet cloth stamped in black with frames and cornerpieces, gilt lettering to spine, black ink stain to upper cover of vol II, spines bumped, corners slightly rubbed, overall a very good set; [vi], 409, [2]ads; [vii], 436, [12]ads pp.

First edition, first impression, 8vo., 255, [1] pp., publisher's black cloth, oriental characters stamped in gilt on upper cover, dust-jacket designed by Richard Chopping, slight darkening to spine and flap folds otherwise a fine copy.

First edition. 8vo., (23 x 16 cm), xx, 299pp., numerous photographic plates throughout (8 in colour), 3 maps and several other illustrations in the text, inscribed to John Hunt on title page, with The Guardian newspaper obituary of John Hunt inserted loosely before title-page; publisher's original blue cloth gilt, original pictorial dust wrapper, extremities worn, spine faded; otherwise a very good copy.

First edition, large folding wood engraved panorama (14 x 670.5 cm), light spotting, sectional division at Trafalgar Square repaired with tape to verso, title pasted inside upper cover; purple cloth, gilt decoration in blind, upper hinge split, a little worn.

First edition, 8vo, contemporary ownership inscription on front pastedown, original brown cloth, dust-jacket designed by Edward Bawden, old reinforcements to inside at spine-ends and one corner, 3 small closed tears, some slight edge-wear to extremities with a couple of minor marks, otherwise a very good copy.

First edition, first, second or third printing; 16mo; colour frontispiece, plain title vignette and 26 colour plates, pictorial endpapers, a very small, close tear to the base of the margin of p.56 where the gutter is slghtly open but firm, a minor mark to margin of p. 26, otherwise very bright and near-fine; publisher's olive green boards with mounted colour illustration, slight bumping to spine ends and corners, a couple of very minor spots, otherwise a very good copy indeed.

First edition, one of the limited issue, number 105 of 250 large paper copies signed by the author, large 8vo., plates and illustrations by the author not included in the trade edition. Publisher's purple silk, device to upper board and titles to spine gilt, top edge gilt, others uncut, with the silk marker ribbon intact (though frayed at very end. Spine faded as usual but an unusually nice copy.

First edition, first impression; 8vo; 4pp. publisher's advertisements; publisher's orange cloth, titles to spine in black, with the dust-jacket designed by Fenwick, correctly priced 7'6 on the spine panel. Some partial browning to the endpapers but a very nice copy in the somewhat faded dust jacket with a number of short tears and several small pieces of internal repair.
