Fourth edition; small folio, (25.5 x 17.3 cm); [170] leaves of 172, lacking first and last blank, text printed on 34 lines, title page supplied in manuscript, initial spaces with guide letters (printed and manuscript), neat repair to first two leaves, slight worming to prelims, Italian inscription on front pastedown, leaf k slightly loose, pagination supplied in manuscript; eighteenth-century full vellum over boards, manuscript lettering to spine, light soiling to boards, otherwise a very good copy of an important work.

One volume (of two), large folio (67 x 51 cm). Plate volume only, tinted lithographed plate of a Byzantine cross, chromolithographed title, and 39 numbered plates, including 13 chromolithographs, 4 tinted lithographs and 22 engravings (of which two double page plates), with an additional lithograph of Saint Sophia bound in; some light spotting, mainly marginal. Without the 2 leaves of list of plates. Publisher's printed boards with stylized Greek cross on front board, blue cloth spine; board edges slightly rubbed.

Skelton, W. Wise &c. , uncut, contemporary half calf, marbled boards, original paper label to upper cover, rebacked and recornered to style, red morocco lettering piece, an excellent copy.
