  1. First edition; small 8vo (165 x 100 mm.); wood-engraved frontispiece, 8pp. advertisements, contemporary gift inscription to front free endpaper, brown-coated endpapers with some wear at hinges possibly due to the adhesive used for the pastedowns; publisher's green cloth blocked in black with gilt title to spine and upper cover and gold medallion containing horse's portrait to upper cover, a little rubbed at corners, slight rolling of spine, but overall very good.

  2. First edition, deluxe issue, number 171 of 250 signed & numbered copies, from an overall limitation of 276; small folio (305 x 225 mm.); original lithographed signed in pencil at end with tissue guard, title-vignette, full-page illustrations and pictorial endpapers, bookplate to front pastedown; original parchment-backed cloth with onset pictorial label to upper cover, very slight dulling to spine, but overall an excellent example, housed in magnetic-locking black cloth drop-back box with inset colour title to upper cover.

  3. 2 vol. Text folio (44 x 29 cm), atlas broadsheet (65 x 50 cm).
    Text: engraved frontispiece by Ingouf l'aîné, title page with engraved vignette by Macret, dedication with engraved head-piece by Bruneau, each part with 3 engraved vignettes (including 2 by Louis-Nicolas Van Blarenberghe), 2 engraved tail-pieces, one engraving by Van Blarenberghe at end, and 11 plates; frontispiece and title with foxing.
    Atlas with 32 double-page plates, including 3 folding, most after Van Blarenberghe (1 and 24 not signed, 21 by Dupuis); a few marginal closed tears. Contemporary full red morocco gilt, spines with raised bands, atlas with gilt arms to covers, gilt edges.

  4. First edition. Two parts in 1 vol. 4to (21.5 x 17.3 cm). pp. [24], 176, [16], 176, [52] pp. Engraved frontispiece and 28 engraved plates, some folding. Modern half-vellum boards.

  5. Quarto (33.5 x 26 cm). VIII, incl. title, 216 pp., with 20 lith. plates and a map; a few marginal repairs, some occasional light spotting. Publisher's green cloth, gilt lettering to upper cover, decorative borders; slightly rubbed and spotted, corners bumped.

  6. Folio (38.5 x 26 cm), engraved frontispiece Louis XIII, double-page engraved title dated 1629 (as in the second edition), printed title dated 1627 (second edition), divsion de tout l'oeuvre leaf, au Roy leaf, engraved portrait of Pluvinel engraved portrait of Menou with verse beneath and privilege du Roy to verso, 207 pp divided into three parts (1-70; 71-115, 117-207) as in the first edition, 58 double-page engraved plates mostly by de Passe, nineteenth century mottled calf gilt, covers ruled in gilt, spine in six compartments, morocco lettering-piece to second, others gilt, lightly rubbed, raised bands, all edges gilt, short splits to a few folds (plates 12, 14, 22, 35, 40), plate 36 with longer split into image, crease to plate 3, occasional trivial spotting or staining, a very good example.

  7. First edition. Two parts in one volume folio (55 x 40 cm). Black lithograph title, engraved title printed in red and black, letterpress introduction within a lithograph frame printed in red and black, 24 hand-coloured lithographs lettered A-Z, [1] text leaf within elaborate lithographed frame; some spotting in text leaves, plates in fresh condition. Contemporary straight-grained half roan by Schaeck (ý) with his (croppedý) stamp at the spine foot, flat spine lettered and tooled in gilt, marbled boards and endpapers; extremities rubbed, skilfully rebacked preserving spine.

  8. Large 8vo (24 x 16 cm). Printed dedication leaf, 132 pp. incl. half-title and title, index [2] pp., with 2 lithographed plates with monogram SMC, protected by tissue guards. Contemporary full red morocco, large gilt coat of arms of the Russian Empire inside gilt-ruled borders to covers, spine with raised bands, red morocco label with gilt lettering, compartments gilt-ruled, gilt rollwork to turn-ins, red silk endpapers, silk bookmark, all edges gilt, kept in a worn slipcase.

  9. First edition. Large folio (61.5 x 44 cm). Title, [4] introduction, 27 hand-coloured engraved maps and 55 lithographs on india paper on 31 sheets, each map accompanied with printed leaves of text; bookseller's printed overslip ('Paris [...] Vve. Bouchard-Huzard') pasted onto date of title page, a few maps lightly browned, some spotting, mostly marginal. Contemporary green half morocco, gilt rules to covers, spine with raised bands gilt in compartments, marbled endpapers; neatly rebacked preserving spine, neat repairs to extremities.
