First edition, first printing; 8vo; frontispiece, 11 monochrome plates after the author, contemporary presentation inscription 'From George & Emily, Xmas 1923' to front endpaper (a little offsetting from press cutting loosely inserted); publisher's cloth, upper cover lettered in gilt with circular vignette stamped in gilt, top edge gilt, dulling and dust-soiling commensurate with age, lower corners slightly bumped, otherwise very good and internally near-fine.

Jacquet, marbled pink endpapers; later half burgundy morocco over gilt marbled boards, signed Jean Etienne, in corresponding marbled slipcases with morocco entries, spines slightly sunned, an excellent set.

First edition, first printing; 8vo; 3 plates from drawings by the author, contemporary ink name to front free endpaper, overall internally very good; original cloth-backed boards, gilt title to upper cover, spine slightly dulled as oft, but overall very good, dust-jacket somewhat marked and frayed with some loss to folds, edges and corners as well as central section of the spine.

I, natural toning, a few spots to preliminary leaves of first two vols, otherwise near-fine; near-contemporary full green morocco by 'Wiseman', double gilt panelled, Bishopric armourial device to boards and 'heavenly keys' and Bishop's Mitre devices to spines, dentelles, all in gilt, all edges gilt, rubbed at extremities, boards a little patchy, otherwise very good.
