First edition, number 9 of 100 specially bound copies, from an overall limitation of 750; folio (310 x 190 mm.); printed in dark green throughout, wood-engraved frontispiece, title vignette, 6 chapter headings and device, all by John Buckland-Wright, one full-page map of the east coast of Australia; full green morocco, gilt, by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, top edge gilt, others uncut, spine very slightly lightened, but otherwise an excellent copy; housed in original cloth slip-case, lightly marked.

  4. Second edition, 4to (29.5 x 24.5 cm), xxviii, 378 pp., portrait frontispiece, folding map, 15 plates (11 of which are folding), some offsetting from plates to text, occasional light foxing, contemporary calf gilt, red morocco lettering piece, raised bands, a very handsome example.

Two volumes bound in one, 4to., volume 1 with hand-coloured frontispiece, 204, 46, 20pp; volume 2 comprises 88 hand-coloured copperplate engraved plates and maps (34 are maps, some folding), contemporary half calf over marbled papered boards, spine with raised bands, gilt ornament and contrasting title label with gilt lettering, mild water stain with some reddish discolouration around the upper margin of some sections of both volumes, affecting neither the text nor the plates, otherwise a crisp copy with vivid plates.
