Edition de Luxe, number 300 of 500 copies on handmade paper, signed by the publisher and printer; 4to; blue initials, very occasional light spotting to margins, otherwise text clean and bright; publisher's limp vellum, gilt lettering to spine and upper cover, green cloth ties, top edge gilt, others uncut, housed in a custom green cloth chemise and quarter green morocco slipcase, slightly worn; overall an attractive example.

First edition thus, fourth impression; 8vo; title printed in red and black, leaves slightly toned, light spotting to prelims; finely bound in full red morocco by Hatchards, double gilt fillet borders, central gilt device to upper cover, gilt lettering to spine, spine with 5 raised bands, gilt in compartments, spine slightly sunned, covers slightly rubbed, top edge gilt, grey endpapers, overall a very good copy.

  3. 8vo; illustrations by the author; contemporary full chestnut morocco by Hatchard's Ltd., marbled endpapers and all edges gilt, fading to spine, with small stain to base and mild scratching to upper cover, otherwise very good and internally fine.

First (Library) edition, one of 275 copies(ý); 4to; printed on Japanese vellum, publisher's colour lithographed device to title, 12 full-page colour lithographed illustrations by Nicholson with captions, tissue guards, monogram bookplate to front pastedown; publisher's variant binding vellum-backed pictorial vellum boards, a little spotted and toned, slightly splayed.

Heath Robinson, some very light, occasional spotting to preliminary pages; publisher's full vellum, front cover pictorially stamped in dark green, red, and gilt and lettered in gilt and spine similarly decorated, lacking ribbon ties, top edge gilt, others untrimmed as published, a few minor marks and age-toning otherwise very good to near-fine.

  6. limited edtion, number 17 of 20 hors commerce, out of a total of 160 copies, 4 vols; 4to (31.5 x 26.5 cm). 276 pp.; 272 pp. with 15 colour plates, including frontispiece, and 15 chapter heading vignette illustrations and initials, all cut in wood and printed in colour by F. L. Schmied with 15 supplementary plates not called for in index and two extra suites of all the illustrations, one in colour, one in monochrome; original wrappers protected by chemises and slipcase; slipcase slightly rubbed, with one joint starting to split.
