Folio (39 x 30 cm). 27 pp. including title, with photoengrav. 25 plates. Publisher's red cloth, title in silver within gilt decorative border on upper cover, gil lettering on spine.

Octavo (22.5 x 16 cm). Title, 712, viii pp., multiple illustrations in text; ink stamps to title, pp. 5 and viii. Contemporary brown half calf over marbled boards, brown calf label with gilt lettering to spine.

Folio (28 x 20.5 cm), part 1 only (out of 2). Title, III, [2], 352 pp., [2pp.] with 20 plates. Contemporary half morocco, spine with raised bands, gilt tooling in compartments, original upper wrapper bound in.

Folio. Title-page, 154 original subjects, printed on 59 leaves consisting of 80 etchings (on 29 leaves) and 74 aquatints (on 30 leaves); occasional light spotting and waterstaining. Uncut in modern calf antique, spine with raised bands gilt in compartments.

Large octavo (25.7 x 20 cm). [2], title, [4], 341, adv. [2] pp., owner's inscription to title. Contemporary blue sheep over cloth boards, gilt spine, small chip to lower board, corners slightly bumped.

Quarto (293 x 210 mm); with 21 plates including 7 double-page, 13 facsimilies, all with original tissues-gaurds; publisher's red half calf, gilt lettering to upper cover, spine gilt ruled, with gilt lettering and large gilt crown; light marginal spotting; half-title, title, [4], 606 pp.

Octavo (22.5 × 15 cm), pp. iv, [5]–24; first and last pages dust-soiled, a couple of stains to the title; uncut and stab-sewn as issued, vertical crease where previously folded, fore-edge a little ragged.

4to, issue 1 (all published). 128 pp., with numerous photographic plates and maps. Fine example in the original printed and decorated wrappers.

First editions, 2 vols (all published); 8vo (23.5 x 16 cm) light traces of tape to inner margin of several pp. in vol I.; publisher's cloth, colour of binding of vol.I and vol.II differs as published.

8vo (21 x 14 cm). Title, 78 pp. Original cardboard; slightly rubbed; minor foxing, some single notes and underlinings with pencil.
